Innovate Newport will become a co-work and office complex within

the structure of a former school. The former Sheffield School was

abandoned over 10 years ago and is being revitalized by the

City of Newport, the Chamber of Commerce and Rhode Island’s

Economic Development Fund. TROIKA participated in this project

as the Design Architect, collaborating with Northeast Collaborative

Architects as the Architect of Record. The former school will include

a new Community Flex Space, a café, shared conference rooms

and several co-work tenant spaces. A reflective glass curtain wall

carves through the center of the building, from the roof to the first

floor. The new atrium creates the heart of the building with complex

light and reflection strategies that activate the building.
