B / SPOKE Cycling Studio looks to fill a niche in

modern high end fitness. Located in downtown

Boston, the design looks to maximize usable space in

a very small footprint. The space holds a centralized

cycling studio with a main reception visible from

both Federal Street and the large adjacent building,

a lobby, lockers, and men and women’s bathrooms.

With careful placement of each programmatic piece

the main reception becomes a visual draw from the

surrounding street and lobby. Through the use of

industrial yet modern materials and by emphasizing

tall open spaces with exposed piping and duct work,

what would be a very small space, is experienced as

one which is large and open.
